There’s a pressing, and particularly relevant argument that geek and gamer culture inherently objectifies women and corners them in a lose-lose situation almost 99% of the time, rendering the field pretty male-dominated. You’ve also probably heard of the internalized misogyny coming from girls a lot of the time — perpetuating the notion that being “nerdy” is somehow superior to being anything else, as if it’s exclusive to only one category.
