Remember Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban for advocating that all girls should have the right to an education? How could we forget: She was subsequently hospitalized and sent to the UK to be treated. After a global outpouring of support and prayer, Malala not only survived, but went on to continue standing up for her rights. Yousafzai spoke this morning at the UN Youth Assembly in New York on what has been established as “Malala Day.” This is her first formal public address, and it also happens to be her 16th birthday. This one’s definitely worth the watch.
